We were asked to assist on a new project to identify all the core competencies required to perform the role of a stylist, from apprentice to managerial level. In order to find out what are the best attributes needed an on-line survey was conducted that analysed the different components of the role. These surveys were completed by current successful employees.
These surveys provided an algorithm that determined the skills and competencies deemed most relevant. Personality assessments were run on selected employees and 1-1 feedback sessions were held with the employee and again with the client.
After analysing the assessments, clear developmental areas were identified allowing for employee growth and development.
Some employees were reticent at first regarding the assessments, which was understandable as they have not encountered them before. However, all were pleased with their reports and felt that it helped them to understand why and how they respond and interact when faced with varying situations.
