According to the World Health Organisation, one quarter of the European population, which currently stands at 743 million, has experienced at least one mental health disorder in the past year. That is equivalent to 185,750.00 people.
While this proportion remains stable over time, the rate of absences from work because of poor mental health is increasing every ten years.
The British Psychological Society has published a report for the Houses of Parliament to try and tackle some key factors responsible for poor employment structures that are contributors to these problems.
- Supporting people into appropriate work
- Creating a psychological healthy workplace
- Supporting neuro-diverse people in the workplace
